Client: The Health
Corner
Brief: Our client wanted a
multi-page website plus shopping cart to showcase and market a natural adult
personal lubricant. The client wanted to be able to update the site themselves
as there is constantly new information to be added. The Health Corner is the UK
importer of this product and wanted a site which could both inform, update and
market to the customer. The website was to be used in conjunction with an
advertising campaign both on-line and in print.
Solution: We set up a
lightweight and fast content management system (CMS) and themed to suit the
products existing artwork and colour scheme. The necessary pages were created
and the customers existing content was added. The information was broken down
into sections for ease of reading. Bullet points highlighted key information
and a minimal use of images ensured fast page loading. PHP Cart was used as a
lightweight shopping cart which is suitable for freestanding websites. This
takes payments in realtime through the clients
WorldPay account. A
mailing
list manager was also used to allow visitors to sign-up for news and
updates. The addition of a custom-made background from
Alfflatus Limited adds
that little bit extra and completes the look.
Comments: This combination
of a CMS and lightweight PHP Cart has given the client the ability to deliver
their information, update the site themselves and sell online in a global
marketplace 24 hours a day. The client takes payment by credit/debit card
through their account with the very reliable
WorldPay gateway. This
project was conceived and finished in under a week. As the client has a hosting
account with WebFusion
they can easily expand to a larger solution as their business continues to
grow.
